Summer is soon to come to an end (three weeks until equinox and counting - sniff), which means it’s time to start thinking about autumn-appropriate footwear. But whilst we’ve still got a hint of leftover holiday tan to show off, you can bet we won’t be hiding our legs in calf high boots anytime soon. Instead we’re focusing our attention on practical kicks that can hold up in a downpour but won’t cramp our style when worn with the last of our summer midi skirts and printed dresses. Enter: trainers.

Colder weather means we can finally pick up our favourite white tennis shoes and streetwear sneakers, or seek out some stylish new season buys to keep us on our our toes. Case in point is the fantastic new array of AW19 footwear from Fit Flop, whose eclectic mix of women’s smart and sporty trainers is set to breathe new life into our looks and gratefully replace the now worn-out sandals that we wore to death this summer.

While there’s classic all-white and subdued yet sophisticated beige sneaker styles to keep the traditionalists happy, Fit Flop still have plenty of "ugly" trainer designs to impress the fashion crowd. We’ll using our new trainers purchases to get some extra wear out of our favourite slip skirts and dresses, layered with blazers for a street-smart autumn uniform, whilst refined leather-accented sneaks with work wonders when worn with one of this season’s trending suits.

To set you off on the right foot, here’s our top picks from the Fit Flop 2019 sneaker line-up.
