The estate’s vineyard is planted to 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, all fairly densely planted to naturally restrict grape yields and promote fruit quality. The average vine age is 46 years, with some much older (the vineyard dates back to 1890). Fruit is picked by hand, by parcel, with each variety harvested and vinified separately. Winemaker Cédric Marc adjusts vinification techniques according to the vintage conditions and his assessment of the fruit as it arrives in the winery.
