As an editor, it’s literally my job to find pieces that I believe readers will genuinely love to wear for the season ahead. But au contraire, because I’m here to tell you that we’ve just entered my favourite season when it comes to one part of our wardrobes in particular – shoes.

The transition from summer to autumn signifies more than just a change in weather; it heralds the end of wearing the same pair sandals with every look. After months of slipping into the same trusty chunky flats, the prospect of an array of new options is a welcome breath of fresh air for feet everywhere. So, what’s looking good for the season ahead? Leather loafers are a timeless staple that effortlessly elevate any outfit, from casual days in denim and a tee to office-worthy tailoring, and they’re already a frontrunner when it comes to this season’s flats. Personally this is where I’ll be focusing my attention instead of trending ballet flats – they’re harder wearing in wet weather and frankly flatter my feet better.
